"From the moment we walked into Tacos El Rey de Oro, we were greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere. This Libertyville gem truly serves a taste of Mexico right here in Illinois. Food & Drinks: We ordered chicken and steak tacos, a chicken quesadilla, and started with fresh guacamole, chips, and salsa. Everything was absolutely delicious--the tacos were perfectly seasoned with tender, flavorful meat, and the quesadilla was cheesy, golden, and satisfying. The guacamole tasted incredibly fresh, and the chips had just the right amount of crunch. We paired it all with their signature margaritas, which are a total standout--fresh lime juice, top-shelf tequila, and perfectly balanced. Service, Ambiance & Ownership: Not only was the staff attentive and friendly, but the owner, Jose, personally came by to check on us. He's warm, welcoming, and genuinely cares that every guest leaves happy. You can tell he takes pride in both the food and the overall experience--something you don't find just anywhere. Overall Experience: Between the delicious, authentic dishes, the stellar margaritas, and the personal touch from Jose and his team, Tacos El Rey de Oro is easily one of our new favorite spots.
